Generally you are automatically granted all the gear you begin the RP with, but be sensible. You don't get a phaser [i]and[/i] three lightsabers [i]and[/i] a BFG900 [i]and[/i] state of the art armour [i]and[/i] a personal cloaking device [i]and[/i] your own pod racer [i]and[/i] 17 slave-girls. Again, that's a one way ticket to Planet Mary-Sue.

It is advised all ships have at least A Captain (Usually the ship's owner), a Pilot (Which can also be captain), an Engineer and a medic. Other things like cook, councilor, weapons expert and so forth are optional.
