Turians cannot eat many foods humans can, though drinks seem just fine. Even if he didn't have a tough exoskeleton, he seems very guarded, hiding his true self behind humour or silence. Perhaps the life of an assassin is wearing on his conscious. Or perhaps it's something more...
History/RP Sample: The Turian Vermin was a good little worker bee in the beginning. Turians value soldiers and Vermin, who came from a military family, was top of his class in his unit as a ground soldier. He saw combat on many occasions, traveling all around the galaxy to defend it from Collectors, Geth, or small pockets of races in revolt.
Eventually he took up home on Omega as security detail in the lower levels. In the nightclub Afterlife, he met an Asari called Sigh, whom he thought was a dancer. Sigh, as it turned out, was a thief. The two of them became something like a friendly rivalry. Her stealing things all around Omega and other systems and him tracking her down to thwart her. He did eventually catch her at The Citadel, and when he turned her in, the higher ups in security decided she was too much of a threat with her biotics and decided to send her to the star ship prison Purgatory.
Vermin thought this was insane because Sigh was not a killer, and only ever seemed to wound anyone should she need to fight. It wasn't justice. So, Vermin helped Sigh escape. He was to deliver Sigh personally to Purgatory, and together they faked their own death, citing a struggle on their little carrier ship, and an explosion. Of course, the two of them fled the shuttle before it blew up.
Together they were partners in crime, Vermin as a gun for hire and Sigh continuing her trade, both knowing they could never go back to their home systems, Omega or the Citadel. They built a life together.
When Sigh stole from a wealthy Batarian mob-boss, she was hunted down and killed. Vermin avenged her, then he took whatever jobs he could, pride and honour be drened. It didn't matter.
When the Empire rose, Vermin realized that things were about to get real bad for everyone, and so he decided that his skills would be best used protecting the next generation of peace keepers as they trained and brought back balance to the universe.
